We designed this energy-efficient home with sustainability and high-performance features as a main priority. The home features all-electric appliances, an air source heat pump for eco-friendly heating and cooling, an energy recovery ventilator that provides clean filtered air, and sub-slab insulation. The main floor contains zero steps to ensure comfortable one-level living in the future.
Located in the heart of the City of Holland, we had to be very mindful of available space when building. It was also important to establish a building plan that would seamlessly integrate this new build with the surrounding homes. In the end, the home exceeded Michigan’s Performance Compliance by 54.8%.
Here is a word from our satisfied customer:
“Working with Pine Creek was a fantastic experience. We had never built a house (and probably never will again), so we needed this to go well. In addition, we were living out-of-state during the whole process, so communication was especially important. At all levels — planning, design, and construction— the experience was great. Communication was always facilitated quickly and effectively through phone, videoconferencing, and the very helpful Buildertrend app. We always felt like we were part of the process, even though we were 200 miles away. The final product is exactly what we envisioned.
I should add that one of our priorities was that the house be as energy efficient as possible. Our all-electric house is incredibly efficient, which we can already see in our utility bills. We also wanted to age in place, and we really appreciate that our entire first floor is designed with that in mind. We were doing an uncommon thing— building a new house right in the heart of Holland that harmonized with the neighborhood. Two months in, and we couldn’t be more pleased. We recommend Pine Creek Construction wholeheartedly and unreservedly. If you want to build in West Michigan, I don’t know why you would choose anyone else.”
